    Hi guys,

I recently bought a snare drum that was listed on eBay. This was my first auction as a buyer. Seller had very impressing (positive) feedback, product seemed to be ok and price was fair. I won the auction and paid the money.

I have been waiting for two months now and the drum still hasn't arrived. I have the feeling that I got screwed. I have e-mailed the seller several times only to hear more excuses and BS. I'm starting to lose my patience now.

What would you do? I have all the e-mails and receipts so I guess I could file fraud. I could also go public with this (mentioning the sellers name) but I don't want to do that unless it's my last chance. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

I'd personally give the guy one final chance to send the drum out the next day and give you a tracking number. If he fails, let him know you'll be leaving VERY negative feedback, contacting Ebay followed by the police. Are you in the US? Is the seller also?

Was his feedback in the past for expensive items or inexpensive items ? He may be trying to screw you because you are new to ebay and he thinks you wouldn't know what to do.
Do what Derek DeFields says in the previous post. That sounds reasonable.

    Good luck.

I have spent A LOT of money
on EBAY and have had a prob-
    lem only once, which event-
    ually was resolved according-
ly and in my favor. I have
    always been a buyer.

Derek is right. In a cordial
    note, express your willingness
to honor your side of the bar-
    gain/obligation. Implore him
    to the same.

    Your check was likely cashed.
    No cancelling possibilities? I
feel for you but it is not o-
ver yet. Do these things and
    let us know what happens.

I've purchased quite a bit from Ebay and have never had a problem.(knock on wood) I'm sorry you had a negative experience. I'd do what Derek said but also, if you have the guy's full name and city you could perform a search on a yellow pages site and call him up and speak to him directly. You take a chance in not finding the right person but is a step I would take to show him how serious you are.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I'm in Europe and seller is in the US. I still am under the impression that this seller is well known character in the vintage drum business and I've read positive things about this person. This makes me wonder even more...

Seller claims that the drum has been shipped and doesn't know why it has not arrived yet. I paid for fast shipping. Any shipping is not supposed to take over two months.

I think the feedback comes mostly from drum related items. The money I sent is probably spent by now so it's too late to cancel.

Can you give more specific advise about contacting eBay or the police in the States? Have you ever done this? Any info would be helpful.

On Ebays home page there are links for contacting or filing a complaint against a seller or buyer.
Where does he live in the US? Did he give you a tracking number for the drum he shipped?
You can request his contact info thru ebay also, if he listed a phone number call him or maybe someone here on HOD that lives in the same area as him can contact for you.
